The Application
Modalities are with reference to the
full-time MBA (Finance) and MBA (Investments) Programs. The academic support and
placement assistance for the MBA Programs is offered by the
Icfai School of Financial Studies (ISFS).
Selection to the
MBA Programs is highly competitive. The goal of the admissions committee is to
select applicants whose academic background, work experience, leadership
abilities and communication skills meet the demands of the program and promise a
successful career. Intelligent, ethical, articulate and active individuals are
encouraged to pursue this program. The admissions committee evaluates applicant’s
prospects as future leaders and their projected ability to succeed in and profit
from the MBA Programs.
Eligibility
Applicants are
required to enclose a photocopy of their scorecard for GMAT® / CAT 2007 / XAT
2008 /
MAT (Latest) or IBS Interview call letter (IBSAT® 2007) along with the
Application Form for admission.
For the purpose
of determining eligibility based on aggregate percentage of marks, the procedure
used by the respective university in award of the degree will only be taken into
consideration. All applicants should have completed a minimum of 15 years of
formal schooling (on 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 basis) by May 31, 2008. Applicants
who have completed their graduation on a one-time sitting basis or on a 2-year
basis are not eligible for admission into the MBA Programs. Work experience will
be given preference.
Although the only
specific requirement for admission is a bachelor’s degree from an accredited
college or university, the admissions committee seeks to admit a mix of
applicants who bring unique contributions from their diverse backgrounds and
experiences and who collectively enrich the educational experience.
Students in their final year
bachelor’s degree course are also eligible to apply, provided they complete
their graduation requirements including practical examinations/viva assignments
before May 31, 2008. Such applicants will have to produce a certificate
to that effect at the time of admission. For any extension of this deadline, the
applicants should apply separately, giving the schedule of their graduation
examination. Extension may be granted on the basis of the circumstances of the
case. The admission of applicants will, however, remain provisional until they
produce marksheets and a degree certificate establishing their eligibility. The
last date for submitting the proof of graduation transcripts is October 1,
2008, failing which the provisional admission will automatically stand
cancelled.
